Getting Treatment for Anxiety and OCD

Dr. Chan Anxitey Treatment San Francisco

There are different types of anxiety disorders which cause problems for many individuals in the United States. In some cases, those conditions may be more likely to occur within certain segments of the population. As an example, Asian American mental health issues of certain types may be more or less likely to occur than they would in different segments, such as African-Americans. Regardless of your background, however, it is possible for you to experience some form of anxiety or major depressive disorder, as it affects almost 7% of the population in any given year. What can you do if you experience this problem?

First of all, it is important to understand that the treatments for your disorder are going to differ, depending upon the specifics of your problem. For example, there are many medications which can provide some relief from depression and other symptoms that you may be experiencing but those may not be an effective choice as an obsessive compulsive disorder treatment. It is also important to understand that not all types of depressive disorder treatments are going to involve medication. It may also be possible for you to get some relief from your problem if you see a qualified psychologist. They will help you to discuss any problems which could be leading to the depression or anxiety that you are feeling. They may also be able to point you in the right direction as to other forms of treatment that can help to control your symptoms and allow you to lead a normal day-to-day life. Why Primary Health Care is Important

A society is formed by different strata containing people of low, moderate and high income groups. Their needs vary and not everyone is in a position to afford the best health care services. In such circumstances, there is a sheer dearth of proper treatment due to unavailability of sufficient funds. This further leads to high mortality rate in a country. Therefore, it's the responsibility of the government to improve health care services and ensure that everyone receives adequate treatment and is capable of completely enjoying the privileges granted to them. Primary Health Care (PHC) is a holistic health care system wherein every individual of a country can access medical facilities irrespective of his/her financial status and ethnicity.

The principles and policies of primary health care were identified in the Alma Ata Declaration (1978), which strongly recommended 'a sustained plan that would be an integral part of the health system prevailing in a country'. The principles laid down by the act were implied to almost all the nations of the world. Furthermore, a proper coordination with other sectors (agriculture, education, public work sectors, communication, rural development, etc.) was also required in order to meet the objectives of primary health care.

The World Health Organization has also contributed to achieving the goals of primary health care. It has emphasized five elements essential for its comprehensive establishment. We shall define them in the following list.
  •     Increasing stakeholder participation
  •     Integrating health into all sectors (public policy reforms)
  •     Pursuing collaborative models of policy dialog (leadership reforms)
  •     Reducing exclusion and social disparities in health (universal coverage reforms)
  •     Organizing health services around people's needs and expectations (service delivery reforms)

How to Take Care of Your Personal Healthh

Taking care of our personal health is a lifetime commitment. There is no magic pill that will bring us good health and help us stay in shape. There's a saying that goes, a healthy person is a happy person, and we should work hard to maintain a healthy lifestyle if we want to live a long and happy life. For most people, switching over to a healthy lifestyle means they should go through a drastic change in their lives. This can be challenging for those who are already set in their ways, but a bit of sacrifice can go a long way in terms of staying healthy.

The Road to a Healthy Lifestyle

The first step to creating a good personal health plan is to consult a doctor. A lot of people fear visiting the doctor, not because of the needles or the tests that may need to be done, but because they're afraid that these tests will detect illnesses they'd much rather not know about or ignore. No one wants to be told that there is something wrong with their bodies, but this step is very important because we need to know the status of our health before we start on any program aimed to improve it. After speaking with a doctor, we will be able to create a solid plan that would help us live healthier and would target our weak points like high blood sugar or cholesterol levels to get them in control.
