How to Take Care of Your Personal Healthh

Taking care of our personal health is a lifetime commitment. There is no magic pill that will bring us good health and help us stay in shape. There's a saying that goes, a healthy person is a happy person, and we should work hard to maintain a healthy lifestyle if we want to live a long and happy life. For most people, switching over to a healthy lifestyle means they should go through a drastic change in their lives. This can be challenging for those who are already set in their ways, but a bit of sacrifice can go a long way in terms of staying healthy.

The Road to a Healthy Lifestyle

The first step to creating a good personal health plan is to consult a doctor. A lot of people fear visiting the doctor, not because of the needles or the tests that may need to be done, but because they're afraid that these tests will detect illnesses they'd much rather not know about or ignore. No one wants to be told that there is something wrong with their bodies, but this step is very important because we need to know the status of our health before we start on any program aimed to improve it. After speaking with a doctor, we will be able to create a solid plan that would help us live healthier and would target our weak points like high blood sugar or cholesterol levels to get them in control.

How To Be a Healthy Person

If you want to be healthy, and I assume you do, then I have four words for you. Diet, exercise, hydration, and sleep. Without all of them in good working order, you will not be any healthier than a car that has plenty of fluids, except is oil. That car will not last, just like your body will not last.

They say you are what you eat, and there is some truth to that. If you eat poorly, you will have poor health. But more than that, even if you get plenty of exercise, drink lots of water, and get adequate rest, if your diet is poor, so will be your health. A healthy diet includes all food groups in the correct proportions. Your diet should consist of roughly ¼ protein, ¼ fruits, ¼ vegetables, and ¼ carbs. This is a simpler way than the food pyramid, food plate, or whatever they use these days.

To be healthy you also need to get enough exercise. The best combination is 3 cardio days per week, and 3 weightlifting days. And not just any exercise will do. I see guys at the gym all the time lifting weights, but never getting bigger muscles, women on the treadmills, never getting thinner, and one toothpick woman who never gets stronger. The reason is that the guys never push themselves by doing heavy weight or hard lifts, the fat women never go faster than a brisk walk, and the toothpick lady never lifts more than about 5lbs. You have to make it burn and keep getting better, stronger, and faster.

Domestic Violence and Abuse Go Orders

The Go Orders would enable the police to remove the perpetrator from their home for up to four weeks, irrespective of whether it is the victim or a third party that reported the suspected abuse.

This scheme would go a long way in assisting victims of abuse who may feel too vulnerable, frightened, insecure, susceptible to self harm, guilty and lack confidence in contacting the police themselves. Or indeed, if they had previously contacted the police in the past but the abuse and violence is still on-going. It may also ease the police's frustration in being able to take action in such matters.

Cracking Down on Homicide:

I personally welcome the new stance that the government proposes in cracking down on domestic violence in the home, not least because two women per week are killed as a result of domestic violence and abuse. I also like the fact that women and children are not the ones that have to flee the home for a change, and we all know that there are insufficient support, refuges and accommodation available to meet their needs, don't we? So it is refreshing that the government is taking domestic violence and abuse as something far more serious than just a couple having an argument in their own home.

The proposals include victims being offered support and advice by case workers on the options open to them should they leave the relationship.
